"I Am Art" Poetry Workshop

"I Am Art" is a free, community based, poetry workshop that helps people build their self-esteem, find their own identity, relieve stress and open their minds to their creativity. This workshop has been a part of the YMCA after school programs and its Youth and Outreach Programs. We have worked with the Tidewater Arts Outreach (TAO) program and the Portsmouth Family Group Home, The Barry Robinson Center, and many Religiuos Organizations in several states around the country.

The "I Am Art" workshop is designed to inspire adults and youth through poetry, to promote literacy and create a positive environment for people to express their feelings through words and not actions. Writing serves as an alternative to fighting and arguing, builds new hobbies and teaches God’s principle of the great power in words.

This workshop is excellent for adults and youth. It is available to reform and rehabilitation programs, churches, retirement homes, school systems, shelters and much more. The workshop can be suited to run in a small amount of time to several days, and can accommodate small or large groups.
